BRIT Trust Grants

12th March 2024
The BRIT Trust welcomes applications for grant funding consistent with its mission of "improving lives through the power of music and the creative arts”.

Applications by eligible organisations can be made through the BRIT Trust website or in some cases via other referrals.  We ask that the applicant organisation is a registered charity.  The BRIT Trust regrets that it is not able to consider grants for individuals/scholarships nor make grants for any activity outside of the UK.

Eligible applicants are requested to complete and submit this application form.

This must set out:
•    full details about the organisation and its grant request;
•    the rationale and aims for any planned activity that a grant would enable;
•    a detailed description of the expected benefits,  including how likely these are to be forthcoming and in what way they will be achieved.

The Trust’s Grant Committee will review applications in light of its mission and the strength of the case being made, while also taking into account its long-term and other existing commitments and any grant-making priorities the Trustees may decide upon at any given time.

 Please be aware that the decision of The Trust’s Grant Committee will be final.

The Grant Application Window is now open and will close on Friday 31st May 2024.

Further Information & Timings

Phase 1: (post 31st May): The applications will be reviewed by the Trust Grant Committee. A list of recommendations will then be put to the main Board of Trustees for their consideration at their June meeting.   We ask that the applicant organisation is a registered charity.  Applications are invited where any grant made is used to reflect the mission of the BRIT Trust - to improve lives through the power of music and the creative arts

Phase 2: Post June meeting, the shortlisted charities will be informed and move forward to the next phase, at which point the BRIT Trust will carry out due diligence procedures.

Phase 3: At the November Board of Trustees meeting, the application will be given final consideration, and, if approved, will be ratified and the donation will be made in due course. The Trust PR Committee and Grant Committee will work with the beneficiary to identify the best timing for any communications to profile and publicise the donation.
Applicants are respectfully asked to bear in mind that requests for funding support typically far outweigh the Trust’s ability to help all the causes that approach it, however deserving these may be and however much it may wish to help. Please note also that if you are successful in receiving funds from The BRIT Trust, you will be sent a formal letter of acceptance that you will be required to sign, and The Trust will additionally require formal reporting and evaluation of your activity as part of due diligence.

The BRIT Trust will contact you with further requirements as appropriate. Where applicable (or known), please list out any connection or relationship with individuals working in the UK music industry.

Grant applications for the next FY will open on 1st December 2024, with successful applications granted in November 2025.
