As a charity that relies heavily on its fundraising events, Nordoff Robbins has been particularly hard-hit by the cancellation this year of the Silver Clef Awards, The Legends of Football and The Music Industry Trusts Awards dinner and other events.
The Music Industry Trusts Award (MITS) has set up a JustGiving page following the cancellation of its annual event in November, with proceeds going to the two charities that would have benefitted – Nordoff Robbins and also The BRIT Trust, which in turn supports causes such as The BRIT School, Music Support, Key4Life, and Nordoff Robbins itself.
Asking for the support of the music community, David Munns, Chair of the Music Industry Trusts Award, said:
“The music community is second to none in coming together to help those that are most in need. Covid-19 has created severe hardships for many, not least charities such as Nordoff Robbins and The BRIT Trust, who desperately need our help having lost so much of their fundraising, including through this year’s cancelled MITS. Please help by donating to a JustGiving page – every penny will help and will go towards supporting music therapists as well as The BRIT School and wellbeing charities supported by the BRIT Trust. Through your generosity and support we can demonstrate the enduring power of music to inspire and to heal and to bring communities together. Thank you.”
