BRIT Trust Chairman, Tony Wadsworth CBE gave a speech at The Music Industry Trusts’ Award (MITS) dinner – held this year to honour DJ Pete Tong MBE – in which he expressed profound gratitude to David Munns OBE, who has stepped down as Chairman of the Music Industry Trusts’ Award committee after 26 years in the role.

The MITS fundraising Award show under David Munns has raised £7 million over the 26 years of his tenure, with the funds divided between music industry charity The BRIT Trust and music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins.

The audience, who during the evening were treated to live performances by Becky Hill and New Order, responded with a standing ovation when Tony remarked David, your generosity of spirit and commitment to the causes that we all hold very dear is extraordinary, and so on behalf of  the BRIT Trust and indeed the whole of our industry, we thank you for 26 years of dedicated service.”
